What Is a Telescopic Sliding Door?
A telescopic sliding door overlaps two or more panels on parallel tracks, so a narrow entrance can open far wider than a single-panel slide allows. As the door opens, each panel slides behind its neighbour and the whole stack parks in a fraction of the wall space a conventional slider needs.
That multi-panel overlap is the whole point. If your shopfront is four metres wide but the wall beside the opening is barely one metre, a standard slider can only ever open one metre. A telescopic system opens most of the entrance instead.

Two situations it solves
The GeWalt telescopic portfolio answers two different problems.
The first is a narrow entrance that needs a wide opening space. Because two sliding leaves fit into one door space, the system can be installed where there is only half the width a conventional slider would need to park in.
The second is a large door entrance. Thanks to its functional principle, the door gives a large passage width within a low overall system width, while still maintaining the required safety clearances.
The two leaves are geared to move at a 2:1 speed ratio at the same time, which gives smoother operation and a faster clear opening than sliding each panel in turn.
