What Is an Emergency Breakout Door?
Emergency breakout doors combine automatic sliding operation with panic breakout hardware. In normal use they behave like any of our 4S automatic doors. Under emergency pressure, the leaves swing open manually and clear the full escape route, even if power or the control system has failed.
That dual behaviour is what Malaysian egress rules are looking for. The Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) require designated escape routes to stay passable in an emergency, and BOMBA reviews expect powered doors on those routes to prove it.
