The Problem Telescopic Doors Solve
Plenty of Malaysian entrances share the same frustration: the opening is generous, but the wall beside it is short. A conventional sliding door can only open as far as its parking wall allows, so a four-metre shopfront with one metre of side wall opens… one metre.
Telescopic sliding doors fix this with geometry. Two or more panels run on parallel tracks; as the door opens, each panel slides behind its neighbour and the whole set parks as a compact overlapped stack. The opening you gain is the sum of the panels, while the wall space you spend is barely more than one.

Inside the Mechanism
Each panel hangs from its own track on roller carriages, and the tracks sit parallel in a single header. A linkage — cable or geared, depending on configuration — synchronises the panels so that moving the lead panel draws the others with it in sequence. Push one panel and the whole set telescopes; release it and the assisted glide settles it gently.
Because the panels overlap rather than stack side by side, a two-panel telescopic clears roughly two-thirds of its total width, and a three-panel system even more — versus half at best for a single slider in the same wall.
Where we install them most
Tight shopfronts and side entries dominate: kopitiam frontages, boutique entrances, service corridors, and the narrow lot frontages common in older Malaysian shophouse rows.
What It Costs and What You Get
Pricing starts from RM1,700, including an aluminium frame and a 4 x 8 feet laminated glass panel with cover. That makes telescopic the value route to a wide opening: no motor, no sensors, fewer parts to maintain, and a glide light enough for daily manual use.
The trade-off is operation. Semi-automatic means someone moves the door — fine for shopfronts opened twice a day, less fine for entrances with constant pedestrian flow. If your traffic justifies hands-free entry, motorised options and full automatic sliding systems are the step up, and our guide on when to choose telescopic walks through that decision.
Every telescopic system is fabricated to the exact opening, since panel widths and overlap must be calculated together. Our RM50 on-site measurement — deducted from your order — captures the numbers, and free Klang Valley shipping brings the finished system to your door.
